The Seychelles Islands is known for several rare and exceptional species from the plant and vegetable kingdom. The world famous Vall?©e de Mai and its unique Coco de Mer is known as the original Garden of Eden. The interesting variety of plant life is the fascination of many people who seek solace in their medicinal, aromatherapy and healing properties. The numerous varieties of plants and herbs that grow in Seychelles have provided Island Scent with the inspiration and enthusiasm to bring the value of the islands essential oils to the world.
The Island Scent Distillery is based on the east coast of the main island of Mahe, in the vicinity of the Arts and Craft Village of Au Cap. The area is an enchanting tourist attraction with an old colonial house surrounded by dozens of Creole artistic chalets, shaded by a canopy of green tropical trees, flowers and plants. Our aromatic plants are handpicked and harvested straight from the natural rainforests of Mah?©, Praslin, La Digue and Silhouette Islands (the four main granite islands of the Seychelles archipelago). Our ambition is to cultivate organically part of the rare aromatic plants ,but to date we are still harvesting directly from the wild .Our distillation process is achieved through dry steam at low pressure, producing high quality oils extracted from fresh flowers, leaves, barks and roots. The production is on a very small scale as our policy is to offer pure, natural and organic products. We are able to provide a full and detailed history of our production, thus assuring our clients of the highest quality products. Orders We stock only a few liters of these essential oils and therefore orders are required for larger quantities whereby a delivery date is agreed upon. Please note that we also have an extensive range of medicinal plants and herbs that we process and distil locally. It is important to note that some of our medicinal plants and herbs are endemic to the Seychelles islands. Thanking you for your interest in our products.
